Diamond chandelier - one of my first ventures into lighting.

My inspirations come from a combination of the natural world and its repetition of shape and form, coupled with the experimentation of light and shadow. The work is considered to be both dynamic and architectural in its formation with the main purpose to create a piece of artwork that also has a function.
Along with the above, I also produce 3D wall pieces for the home and a selection of body wear comprising of ear rings, bracelets and brooches by using a repetitive shape from various papers.
The gradual evolvement of my work continues with more research into repetition and shape, the size of my sculptures and materials I plan to use. As each piece is an original – the location of each commission brings new challenges which I savour.
My work is driven by the goal of individuality of design which I believe is still highly regarded but also key to achieve a true combination of craft and fine art. The application of well honed craft skills and techniques are important to the design of my pieces but they must be coupled with a high degree of creativity to produce the end product that for me bridges the gap between function and fine art.
