Product info

A pair of salad servers in zebrawood, also known as zebrano. It's one of the few tropical hardwoods I use (but which I am confident comes from sustainable forestry) and which has beautiful colours and figuring. The spoon and fork ends are stainless steel, bought in from a quality supplier in Sheffield.

Care instructions

The finish is food safe oil. Clean with a damp cloth and dry immediately. If the wooden surfaces become mottled, wipe with fine wire wool (0000 grade) and coat lightly with any vegetable oil, leaving for 24 hours before use.

Materials

Made on my lathe with standard turning tools

Wood is an enormously varied and versatile material. In my workshop in Oxford I use mostly locally sourced timber, especially ash, sycamore and elm - but not oak to which I am allergic - to make a range of turned products, many using my signature inlays.
