This unique sculptural piece comprises of a blown glass base with a removable kiln formed and hot glass lid.
Clean with any glass cleaning product. It is best to handle the lid by flower rather than the tendril.
First the blown glass 'pod' base is made in the glassblowing studio, along with the tendril which is also made of hot glass from the furnace. I then take the base back to my studio where I make a flower out of coloured sheet glass. Each flower is fired twice, once to fuse it and a second time to shape it. I then attach the tendril to the flower and finally a glass button to the flower's base. The flower lid then fits neatly into the hole in the top of the blown glass base.
