Product info

I love to make up stories, and this piece is part of my story “The Thieves of Time, the Magpies and the Star Machine!” The time thieves recycle the time we waste by rescuing extraneous ticks and tocks trapped in our clocks and watches. These ticks and tocks are fed into their star machine and transformed into stars that help power the universe, replenishing the time we’ve frittered away.

Here Bing, one of the younger time thieves, is very pleased with himself - he's managed to sneak away with someone's mantle-clock and is transporting it on his little sack-barrow.

Care instructions

Dust or lightly sponge the porcelain pieces. Do not wet the metal/wooden elements as this can affect the patination.

Materials

Slab-built porcelain with original ceramic transfer illustrations. Arms and trolley are made from copper which has been patinated black. Wheels are made from recycled draughts pieces.

Meet the maker
I love making up stories, and these inspire my porcelain & copper narrative scenes. "The Thieves of Time" and "Trolley Men" are just two of my stories. All my work is made in the comfort of my shed, accompanied by Radio 1 and the odd dance! To read my story “The Thieves of Time, the Magpies and the Star Machine!” please see my portfolio.
