Product info

Small thin walled bowl in ash. I discovered when I started cutting it that the ash is partly rippled - bands that catch the light go across the grain. The effect is due to strain in the tree while it grows.

Care instructions

Clean as needed with a duster. Best not to stand permanently in direct sunlight to avoid discolouration of the wood.

Materials

Made on my lathe with standard woodturning tools.

Dimensions

Width: 10.7 cm Height: 4.6 cm Depth: 10.7 cm

Wood is an enormously varied and versatile material. In my workshop in Oxford I use mostly locally sourced timber, especially ash, sycamore and elm - but not oak to which I am allergic - to make a range of turned products, many using my signature inlays.
