Wood is an enormously varied and versatile material. In my workshop in Oxford I use mostly locally sourced timber, especially ash, sycamore and elm - but not oak to which I am allergic - to make a range of turned products, many using my signature inlays.

Q:I am interested in your Ash Salad Servers I, because I think they would match nicely to an ash bowl I have with a three-line inlay . The bowl is quite big (almost 40 cm) and I worry that at 21 cm in length, the servers will get lost in it. Is it possible to get some longer ones, like 30 cm? If not I'll get these.
Asked by Jennifer O'Connor on 26 January 2013
A:Dear Jennifer Thankyou for your question about my salad servers. I've checked through all my stock and I don't have anything at 30cm. However, thin work like salad servers (and bottle stoppers) doesn't need the resting process between the two stages I use for bowls etc so I can make some more very soon. I have some ash in stock so, all being well, I could have ready by Monday a pair of salad servers in the same design as the pair you're interested in. I'll start making them anyway and will upload them to the Seek and Adore web site. I'll ask the Seek and Adore team if they can alert you when they appear on the site.
