I am a contemporary jewellery designer maker based deep in the heart of the Shropshire countryside. Having graduated from The School of Jewellery in the summer of 2011 with a BA Honours in Jewellery and Silversmithing I then continued my love affair with Birmingham’s Jewellery Quarter by working on the Design Space scheme before returning to the countryside and setting up my own workshop with just fields for company.
My current collections were initially inspired by the way objects and plants wither and rust over time, creating beautiful finishes. I spent a great deal of time at university trying to recreate these textures, colours and finishes and found myself giving up, knowing that I couldn’t create something with my hands that was formed so well through nature. So now, rather than trying to create a certain finish or form, I allow the metal to buckle and warp under the pressure of my body weight, creating completely unique pieces which can never be replicated.
